Technical SEO ・ built for Japanese pages

SEO auditing that actually measures Japanese pages.

Kurage SEO crawls your site and checks what English-language tools get wrong about Japanese: it counts title length in full-width characters, and it looks at charset declarations and lang attributes. Every verdict is deterministic — no AI guessing. You get the measured value and the fix, not just a score.

English thresholds give Japanese sites the wrong answer

Most SEO checkers judge a title against roughly 60 characters. That is a half-width standard. Measure a Japanese title the same way and you get "no problem" for a title that is visibly truncated in the search results.

Counted in full-width

Full-width counts as 1, half-width as 0.5. "AI活用" is 3 characters — so titles that mix Latin letters into Japanese are measured the way they actually render. Anything over 32 full-width characters is flagged with the number attached.

Checks that only matter in Japanese

A missing or wrong lang attribute, no charset declaration, mojibake from an encoding mismatch, and full-width alphanumerics in a title that will never match a half-width query. English-language tools do not look for these.

Always with the measurement

Not "your title is too long" but "65 full-width characters". You can see what produced the verdict, fix it, and measure again to confirm.

What the audit covers

Ten categories, checked by actually fetching the pages.

Crawl & indexing Titles & descriptions Heading structure Structured data Open Graph Content Mobile Speed HTTPS & safety Japanese-specific

Pages that never appear at all

A stray noindex, a robots.txt that blocks the whole site, a canonical pointing somewhere else, a missing sitemap, chained redirects. Before "we aren't ranking" comes "we aren't in the index".

Problems only visible across pages

It cross-checks pages for duplicate titles and descriptions — the state where Google cannot tell which page to show. Broken links are verified by actually requesting them.

A report you can hand over

Download a Markdown report pairing each finding with its measured value and its fix, ordered by severity so you can work straight down the list.

Why no AI in the verdicts

A tool that gives two different answers for the same page cannot be sold as an audit. Every verdict in Kurage SEO is a comparison against a threshold: same input, same output.

A language model appears in exactly one place — writing the fix suggestions — and it is handed nothing but the findings that were already measured, so there is no room for it to invent numbers. The free tier runs Gemma on our own GPU; paid runs use DeepSeek.

Rankings, search volume and backlinks are not reported. They require buying data from a third-party index, so they are outside the scope we chose. We will not dress up data we do not have.

Questions

How is this different from other SEO checkers?

It uses Japanese thresholds. Titles are counted in full-width characters and flagged past 32, with the measured number attached. It also checks charset declarations, lang attributes, mojibake and full-width alphanumerics — things that only break on Japanese sites.

Is an AI scoring my site?

No. Every verdict is deterministic, so the same page always gives the same result. A language model only writes the fix suggestions.

Does it show rankings or search volume?

No. Those require buying third-party index data, so they are outside the scope we chose. We will not dress up data we do not have.

How many pages can it audit?

Five pages per audit, three audits a month on the free web tier. The self-hosted version runs on your server, so you set the limits.

Can I export the results?

Yes — a Markdown report pairing each finding with its measured value and its fix, ready to hand to a client.

Will it hammer the site being audited?

No. It waits between page fetches, reads robots.txt, and caps how many links it verifies.
